Well, I finally made it home...barely. I was sick the day we were leaving and had to give me another shot so I could make it on the plane. It was a long, groggy flight home!
After I got home, I felt ok Wed night. I woke up Thursday (my birthday) and was actually getting ready to go to work when that "feeling" came back. This time it was worse than when I was in Africa.
So, I found myself at the Doctor's office later that afternoon! What a birthday present! But, I did get the answer to what had been wrong with me. It wasn't the food, or anything like that at all! It was my gallbladder! I was admitted to the hospital thursday night, and had surgery on Saturday. The surgery went well and the doctor told me that it was no wonder that I was sick. It was time for it to come out of me!
Can I tell you how good I feel now?! I hate being in hospitals, but it was definitely worth it to get to the bottom of this. What a relief to know that I wasn't infected with some weird bacteria!
All in all, I am feeling good now. I am just sorry that I got sick when I did. It put such a damper on my trip to Uganda. But I am so appreciative to have had the opportunity to go!
Thanks for all of your prayers! The Lord moved and protected us all. I am so glad I was able to get home and get this taken care of!
Merry Christmas to all of you!

Wow, I just read your blog. Sounds like you had an awesome trip sans the gall bladder. Thomas and Mariah both sent me emails telling me about the trip. I cant believe the pain was your gall bladder....your not that old...lol, guess I thought older people have that issue more than younger people. Anyways, glad all went well and it was a blessing!
